We are currently witnessing a transformative era where two of the most sophisticated technological fields, quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI), and daily life are rapidly blurring, signifying a future where these worlds are seamlessly integrated into our everyday experiences.
While many perceive these two technological fields as separate, their convergence is poised to create a symbiotic relationship that holds the promise of redefining the future of computing.
My recent experiences, inspired by OpenAI's DevDay and IBM's Quantum Summit, have reshaped my understanding of the interaction between AI and quantum computing. Contrary to the common perception that these domains are distinct and separate, my perspective has evolved to recognize that their convergence is set to establish a symbiotic relationship, one that is positioned to reshape the future of computing.
In December 2023, I embarked on a journey to meld the worlds of AI and quantum computing. Leveraging IBM's Qiskit for quantum computing and PyTorch for AI, my goal was to create a pioneering project: an AI-powered quantum simulation. The project was a simple translation model, yet it represented something far greater—the dawn of a new era in programming characterized by the integration of natural language processing, allowing for a direct bridge between human thought and the esoteric world of quantum computing. In this project, AI transcended its traditional role to become a translator, adeptly converting simple English instructions into the complex algorithms understood by a quantum computer simulation.
Imagine a world where the primary barrier to technology utilization is not the knowledge of programming languages but rather the number of global languages one can understand.
